The most important tips to keep in mind while dealing with heart break

Having your heart broken is one of the worse feelings in the world especially if you were in love with your partner. You go through your whole relationship having happy moments, working out problems, and then one day your partner says we need to have a "serious talk".

When people in a relationship hear the words "serious talk" they think okay maybe it will be a proposal, or getting an apartment or house together, they don't expect the word "breakup". Breakups are tough, depressing, and it makes you go into a blue mode just like I did a couple of days ago.

After I broke up with my boyfriend after a three year relationship, I was in such a blue mode that I brought a bottle of White Grape Cider, listened to the song "After you've gone" by Marion Harris (was featured in the CW show "The Originals"), and was singing sadly to the song while downing my entire bottle of cider.

Afterwards I decided that I needed to stop being depressed and dwelling on the breakup. I needed to do things to make me happy and here are my tips that I recommend that you follow in order to get back to your own happy place!

1. EAT YOUR FAVORITE CHOCOLATE CANDY
Eating candy all the time is not a good thing because of cavities, but once in awhile is not such a bad thing. After you go through a breakup indulge yourself in one of your favorite chocolate candies. Some chocolates are even good for your skin!

2. SING LYRICS TO ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE ENERGIZING SONGS
Rocking out to one of your favorite tunes is always a lot of fun and it will get you back to be the exciting version of yourself. One of the first energizing songs that I jammed out to was Carrie Underwood's "Before he cheats" and boy oh boy did I feel great! Try it and after singing the lyrics to one, you will continue to do the same with your other top tunes!

3. WORK OUT

If you are into keeping your body right, then go work out. Develop a fun workout routine. If you are into bike riding, swimming, or running go do that! Just remember to bring a bottle of water to keep you going during your work out session!

4. READ A BOOK THAT YOU ENJOY
If you are a big reader like me then grab a book that you love from your collection. If you are new to reading, then go and pick out a book in a store revolving around your favorite category!Reading is a great way to relax yourself and let all the drama in your life slip away!

5.  RE-ORGANIZE YOUR ROOM

If your room was getting a little messy and you wanted to switch it around, but had no clue when to get started then now is the time to do so. Fixing your room may not seem like much fun, but it is.

Yesterday I worked on organizing my room, with a high focus on cleaning up my closet and I was happy that I did. I categorized all my clothes from different tints of jeans, color pants, tank tops, short sleeve shirts, work out clothes, dressy clothes, swim wear and etc. I even used labels to separate all the items. I felt much better afterwards because I knew that I would not go through a big hassle trying to find the things in my room anymore.

6. BUY YOURSELF A NEW OUTFIT

Every girl, or woman loves to shop! Breakups are the best time to go on a mini shopping spree. Now if you are trying to save a lot of money, that is perfectly fine. I did not buy a whole outfit after my breakup, but I did buy this cute artsy dress from Kmart that was from the Bongo brand! Buy something that will make you feel good and enhance your beautiful style all over again!

7. WATCH A CHIC FLICK
Jasmine Leach

A great remedy to follow after a breakup is to watch a cool and cute chic flick with some hot men! Now that you are single there is a plus side to this. You don't have to keep your mouth quiet when the hot men come on the screen! Whistle, scream, and swoon all you want!

8. PAMPER  YOURSELF TO YOUR OWN PERSONAL MANI AND PEDI

Which woman does not like being pampered? Play some fun girl tunes in the background, take out your nail polish, your remover, some fake nails, and just give yourself a mani, or a pedi!

9. CREATE YOUR OWN PHOTO SHOOT

Want to make your ex miss what he left behind? Then create your own photo shoot! Plus you can sport some new and old outfits that you love from the closet!

10. LAST STEP IS TO HAVE A SINGLES PARTY!
If you are not into the club scene, then have a singles dance party in your room. The second day after my breakup, I played some fun songs from youtube.com, and danced for about an hour. It made me feel even more excited to be single!

So remember that breakups are sad, but you can have some fun out of it. Of course most of these tips may seem like they cater towards women, but men can feel free to follow some of these tips when it comes to workouts, reading a book, organizing a closet, getting an outfit, and having a singles party (with the guys of course).  Hope all of these tips help you people out there with broken hearts.

Top ten tips to help you be a great leader!

Here are the top ten tips to keep in mind when being the leader of an organization!

1. FORM CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR TEAM MEMBERS

It is important to form close relationships with your team members so everything can run smoothly and so you can have a team of strong hard working individuals. In order to form a relationship with them outside of just being their president, hang out with them while your on campus. Try to grab a snack or lunch together, go workout at the gym, play a game that you both enjoy on the campus game room, and etc. You can even hang out off campus if you like. Whatever you do, just make sure you get a nice bonding experience with them.

2. SET UP RULES AND  PROCEDURES FOR THE CLUB
In order for a club to function, you need to set up rules. Now if you are a widely well known club, but work under someone like in Her Campus we have a boss that is in charge of every chapter through the state, they set up the major club rules. It is your responsibility to enforce the rules, not like a mean person, or b**** but in a way that the members know what is expected of them, plus the consequences of not contributing and etc.

3. MAKE SURE YOU SET UP AGENDAS FOR MEETINGS
When your club has a meeting, whether that is weekly, or monthly, make sure that you have an agenda so everyone in the organization will know which topics will be covered in the next meeting. It is also a great way for the president to be organized as well so that way he or she will not go crazy trying to figure out what needs to be discussed, or so you won't leave out IMPORTANT DETAILS!

4. PLAN EVENTS TOGETHER

While being in a club you want to make sure that you have events planned that will get you noticed on campus and that are great stress relievers. When your team brainstorms on having events, make sure that you choose a list of some that are easy to throw together and that each member contributes something to it. It will save you a lot of hassle when it comes to running around to buy things for the event.

5. BE AN OPEN EAR
It is important to listen to your team members not just when it comes to club things, but if they need a friend to talk about personal issues they may be facing whether at home, in a relationship, and etc. They will look up to you in a highly manner if you are there for them!

6. HAVE A BRIGHT PERSONALITY
As a president you need to be serious, but also be a fun person to be around. Make jokes when you are around your team members, sing songs with them, prank them, just be a joy ball!

7. HAVE TEAM MEMBER EVENTS
School events are fun, but team member events are great too. Try and have spa days with your team, luncheons, cocktail parties, and etc. They will be more then happy to participate in them and they will thank you for it!

8. IF YOU ARE A PUBLICATION, HELP YOUR MEMBERS INCREASE THEIR SKILLS IN WRITING
If you notice that some of your team members are having some difficulty with writing an article, help them. Don't just correct their problem through the editing process. Give them helpful critique.

9. BE HONEST
It is important to be honest with your team members. If there is catty drama going on with some of your team members let everyone know, and take the appropriate measures to fix the problem. If you need to remove the team members causing the issues then do so. The last thing you want is your team to feel uncomfortable being around each other.

10. TELL YOUR TEAM HOW MUCH YOU APPRECIATE AND CARE FOR THEM
When your team is continuing to be successful and standing on its own two feet, tell your team how much you appreciate their hard work and passion for the club. If you bonded with them and care for them, let them know that. It's a heart warming feeling!

Follow these steps and you will be the best leader out there!

The importance of joining a club at school.

When you are in college you probably had the mentality that you were just going to focus on your classes and have no time at all to join an organization. You didn't want your grades to suffer, you had to many things on your plate, and etc. Here is the problem when people say those things to themselves, or to others, it means that you don't want to CHALLENGE YOURSELF!!

Challenging yourself is not necessarily a bad thing. It shows that you can multi-task in different areas and still be highly successful in other areas. I for one, was a person that turned my back on clubs, until I found Her Campus. Her Campus is an international online women's magazine in which just about every college throughout the United States has their own chapter.

In my second year at Kean University in my Spring semester I joined the Her Campus Kean chapter and man am I happy I did. I learned the entire process of how the magazine business works when it came to writing your own magazine work, having deadlines, and etc. I even got moved up from being a regular member to the president of the organization for the Spring 2014 semester.

Being president was a ton of work! I not only had to write my own articles, but I had to edit each of my member's work, plan out meetings, fill out forms for events, create the events and decorate for them, collaborate with other organizations, and the list goes on and on. It was a lot of responsibility, but it was well worthed.

Based on my wonderful experience being in a club while in college, I want to provide you with a rule that I want you to write down and keep in mind for the future. RULE: DON'T LET ANYTHING (INCLUDING YOUR OWN INSECURITY) hOLD YOU BACK IN SOMETHING THAT WILL BE BENEFICIAL TO YOUR LIFE!

In my next article, I will explain the top ten tips that will you help you be a great leader!
